Honestly they got rid of Tate because they wanted to play songs from the EP and the Warning album. He wasn't interested but he also committed tax fraud on the Queensryche corporate account and made a Mindcrime movie deal cutting out the other band members. Still, I don't get why they would want to play a song like "Queen of the Reich". On the Building Empires video/DVD filmed in 1992, Chris DeGarmo, Tate and Michael Wilton admitted the video was a complete cheese production. They made fun of it and couldn't stand it. DeGarmo probably detests the old material. His taste is now clearly more towards modern rock and grunge as shown on his contributions to the 2003 album Tribe. And I honestly don't know why anyone would think he would rejoin a newer band who is committed to play heavier songs.
